About the Job

Requirements

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in vulnerability research.
  • A BE, B.Tech, or MCA, preferably in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Practical command of native and binary exploitation, including stack and heap overflows, use-after-free, double-free, type confusion, integer overflows, off-by-one, and format-string bugs.
  • Comfort with debugger and disassembler/decompiler workflows using tools such as gdb with pwndbg or GEF, WinDbg, IDA, Ghidra, or Binary Ninja, and with pwntools or an equivalent.
  • Ability to reason in terms of vulnerability root-cause classes and perform variant analysis.
  • Proficiency in at least one of Python, C, C++, Go, or Rust.
  • Ability to document exploitation reasoning, verdict logic, residual risk, known gaps, attempted approaches, constraints, and shipped alternatives.
  • Working fluency with artificial intelligence and large language model tools such as Claude Code as part of the day-to-day workflow.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze vulnerabilities down to the affected code path, trigger conditions, resulting primitive, and actual patch changes.
  • Develop proof-of-concept exploits in a lab to establish reachability, reliability, and real-world impact.
  • Build non-harmful checks that confirm whether vulnerabilities are present on customer hosts, using distinguishing signals instead of harmful payloads and delivering a clear verdict, response taxonomy, safety statement, and false-positive analysis.
  • Assess mitigation bypasses against defenses including ASLR, DEP/NX, stack canaries, CFI, RELRO, sandboxing, and modern hardware mitigations.
  • Design and write stronger mitigations at both bug-class and individual-instance levels, including compiler and platform hardening, defense-in-depth, and design changes that make exploitation economically infeasible.
  • Read and adapt public offensive and detection tooling while distinguishing detection logic, payloads, and bypass-critical components.
  • Stand up matched vulnerable and patched lab environments for reproducible exploitation, regression testing, and mitigation validation.

Desired Qualifications

  • Published CVE research, exploit development, or coordinated disclosure experience.
  • Fuzzing experience.
  • Program analysis experience.
  • Reverse engineering or source-code review experience to pinpoint a patch's distinguishing change.
  • Authoring experience for a detection or scanning platform.
  • CTF background or an equivalent hands-on track record.
  • Reproducible lab orchestration using containers or virtual machines.
