Requirements
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Knowledge of PC and Mac software, hardware, operating systems, and network environments.
  • Ability to read and follow complex instructions and analyze and diagnose computer problems.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak and interact with all levels of computer users.
  • Ability to maintain a professional demeanor, pay attention to details, and set priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to delegate assignments professionally and follow up on project completion and accuracy.
  • A bachelor's degree with a concentration in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field is required, or a high school diploma/GED supplemented by four additional years of experience.
Responsibilities
  • Provide support for information technology processes and enhancements supporting operations, research, and education technology.
  • Support faculty and staff in day-to-day operations.
  • Maintain, plan, and implement improved processes.
  • Provide technical support, administration, and ongoing maintenance for learning management systems, particularly Canvas.
  • Support faculty and staff in using Canvas for course development, instructional delivery, assessment, communication, and other education technology needs.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience handling customer service calls and triaging problems.
  • Experience working in a research environment.
  • Experience with Canvas course development, course management, user enrollment, gradebook functionality, assignments, assessments, and learning management system integrations.
  • Local area network management, website design and development, and hardware and software installation and troubleshooting.
  • Developing database applications using desktop database software programs.
  • Developing queries and reports from desktop and institutional databases.
  • Creating, reviewing, and improving workflows.
  • Providing technology support to customers, consulting on technology solutions for business processes, and coordinating testing of new technologies.
  • Providing audio-visual and computer service support for seminars.
  • Maintaining and training users on wireless data projector systems and teleconferencing equipment.
