Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in behavioral sciences, human services, or social services, with at least five years of progressive employment experience demonstrating supervisory and case management experience, or a master's degree in those fields with at least three years of such experience.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish.
  • First aid, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and emergency behavior intervention certifications.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment and random drug screens.
  • Proof of work eligibility upon request.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment and biennial criminal background checks.
  • Ability to respond sensitively and competently to the service population's cultural and socioeconomic characteristics.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with staff members, service providers, and professionals.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize responsibilities efficiently.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining emotional control and professional composure.
  • Computer literacy sufficient to meet the responsibilities of the position.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team without intensive supervision.
  • Working knowledge of Compass Connections policies and procedures.
  • Annual influenza vaccination or an approved medical or religious exemption is required as a condition of employment.
  • Authorization to work for any employer in the United States is required; employment visa sponsorship is unavailable.
Responsibilities
  • Meet all applicable federal and state regulatory guidelines and standards.
  • Provide program staff with training that meets agency, licensing, contract, and individual staff needs.
  • Provide and update training for federal entities, care facilities, community services, and other stakeholders.
  • Develop, maintain, and distribute a staff training calendar covering development opportunities for evening and overnight shifts.
  • Maintain a staff-training database and provide monthly and quarterly reports on training and its impact on program practices and outcomes.
  • Maintain personnel files, training records, and training certifications for the assigned program.
  • Develop professional relationships with peers, private agencies, and supporting agencies.
  • Work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed or requested by the position supervisor.
  • Implement Compass Connections safety protocols during emergencies.
  • Participate in scheduled meetings, team decisions, and operations.
  • Maintain confidentiality in all areas of the service population and program operations.
  • Maintain the professional and ethical standards of conduct outlined in the employee handbook.
  • Establish and implement a training strategy and goals for the assigned program.
  • Develop and continually update program training manuals and materials.
  • Travel frequently between locations, including distances greater than 50 miles from the home office.
  • Meet deadlines required by the program supervisor and federal partners.
  • Communicate effectively in writing and verbally in English.
  • Support, encourage, and recruit foster parents in foster care programs.
Desired Qualifications
  • Child welfare experience.
  • Experience working with immigrant populations.
  • A master's degree in behavioral sciences, human services, or a social services field.
