Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in operational technology and industrial control systems environments, such as electric utilities, oil and gas, manufacturing, water and wastewater, power generation, natural gas, life sciences, or data center operational technology.
  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with industrial control systems technologies, including supervisory control and data acquisition, distributed control systems, energy management systems or advanced distribution management systems, remote terminal units, programmable logic controllers, human-machine interfaces, and industrial communications protocols.
  • Minimum 3 years of cybersecurity experience, including vulnerability management, identity and access management in operational technology contexts, and monitoring or incident response.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with common industrial control systems and operational technology protocols, including Modbus, DNP3, IEC 61850, PROFINET, OPC, and EtherNet/IP.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience producing and presenting security deliverables, assessment reports, and findings to technical and executive audiences.
  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent minimum 12 years of work experience; alternatively, an associate's degree with a minimum of 6 years of work experience.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct operational technology and industrial control systems security assessments against NERC CIP, IEC 62443/ISA-99, NIST Cybersecurity Framework, DOE C2M2, and client-specific requirements.
  • Evaluate client security posture across the Purdue Model layers, identifying gaps in network segmentation, remote access, asset inventory, and detection coverage.
  • Deploy and configure operational technology-native security tooling, including network security monitoring platforms such as Dragos, Claroty, and Nozomi, and asset discovery tools such as Dragos, RunZero, and NetRise.
  • Perform operational technology-specific threat hunting, indicator of compromise analysis, and incident response support in industrial control systems and supervisory control and data acquisition environments.
  • Develop detailed security assessment reports, risk registers, and remediation roadmaps tailored to operational and business context.
  • Support operational technology security program development, including governance frameworks, policies, and procedures aligned with client maturity goals.
  • Collaborate with client information technology and operational technology teams, system integrators, and original equipment manufacturer vendors to drive practical security outcomes.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on active operational technology security pursuits by contributing to request for proposal responses, solution reviews, and proposal content while balancing client delivery commitments.
  • Contribute reusable assets and methods to Accenture's operational technology security practice and support delivery excellence across engagements.
Desired Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of consulting experience with Fortune or Global 1000 clients or experience within utilities, oil and gas, manufacturing, or other critical infrastructure verticals.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience assessing against NERC CIP, IEC 62443, NIST Cybersecurity Framework, DOE C2M2, or sector-specific operational technology security frameworks.
  • Experience deploying and operating operational technology security sensor platforms, including Dragos, Claroty, Nozomi, and Armis, in live operational environments.
  • Experience with asset discovery and operational technology network visibility tools, including RunZero, NetRise, and Dragos Platform.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in operational technology and industrial control systems network infrastructure, including industrial firewalls, data diodes, switches, Cisco, Palo Alto, Fortinet, and Rockwell.
  • Minimum 2 years of operational technology and industrial control systems threat hunting, anomaly analysis, or security operations center experience in an industrial context.
  • Experience with MITRE ATT&CK for ICS and applying tactics, techniques, and procedures to detection engineering or threat modeling.
  • A relevant certification such as GICSP, GRID, GCIP, CISSP, or equivalent.
  • Experience with embedded device analysis, firmware inspection, or industrial protocol reverse engineering.
  • A master's degree in cybersecurity, computer science, or a related field.

Accenture drops LearnVantage focus, shifts $9B to cybersecurity and mid-market expansion

Accenture is shifting its growth strategy, de-emphasising LearnVantage, a learning and training business it built and promoted heavily in 2024. The company mentioned LearnVantage only once on its June 2026 earnings call, listing it amongst AI enablers rather than highlighting it as a standalone growth driver. Meanwhile, Accenture is redirecting resources toward cybersecurity, which has grown from $700 million in fiscal 2016 to $10 billion in fiscal 2025. The company is acquiring a majority stake in an operational technology security specialist, alongside two smaller firms, combining them into a platform for critical infrastructure. These assets generate $208 million in annual recurring revenue, growing at 48%. Accenture's acquisition budget for fiscal 2026 is approximately $9 billion against $73.1 billion in trailing twelve-month revenue. The company has also launched Accenture Edge, targeting mid-market companies. The stock is down 24.3% over the past year.

Accenture acquires Dutch SAP partner McCoy to boost mid-market AI and ERP capabilities

Accenture has agreed to acquire McCoy, a Dutch SAP transformation partner specialising in mid-market companies. Upon closing, McCoy will join Accenture Edge, the firm's mid-market business serving companies with annual revenues between $300 million and $3 billion. Founded in 2012, McCoy operates from the Netherlands with offices in Spain and the Philippines. The company employs over 380 professionals who design, implement and manage SAP solutions across ERP, data and business applications. McCoy holds SAP Gold Partner status and serves clients in high-tech, manufacturing, public sector, utilities and retail. The acquisition will strengthen Accenture Edge's position in the EMEA mid-market whilst expanding SAP modernisation capabilities in the Netherlands. The deal is subject to regulatory approvals. Financial terms were not disclosed.
