About the company

IMU Biosciences develops CytAtlas, an AI-powered immune-profiling platform that uses a small blood sample to quantify thousands of immune cell subsets from large datasets for immuno-oncology, cell therapy, autoimmune disease, and transplantation. It analyzes data from a blood sample to produce detailed immune profiles across many cell subsets, guided by research from King’s College London and the Francis Crick Institute. The platform differentiates itself by delivering large-scale, systems-level immune insights from a single sample and by integrating with clinical programs and collaborations (e.g., UK MANIFEST) to support cancer immunotherapy and transplantation. Its goal is to help clinicians better stratify patients and tailor treatments while expanding its operations and programs through funding and partnerships.

What believers are saying

  • June 2026 financing lifted IMU above $53 million, with total funding near $60 million.
  • September 2026 Eurofins granted exclusive access for transplant clinical development programmes.
  • Waters partnership expands access to BD FACSDiscover and BD Rhapsody workflows.

What critics are saying

  • IMU disclosed no regulatory submissions or commercialization timeline in 2026.
  • Waters and Eurofins remain research and clinical-development deals, not reimbursed products.
  • If validation stalls, CytAtlas stays a services platform, not a defensible diagnostics company.

What makes IMU Biosciences unique

  • CytAtlas analyses 100 million immune data points from one blood sample.
  • IMU pairs proprietary AI with clinical datasets from Crick, King's, and MANIFEST.
  • Eurofins and Waters partnerships validate its HD Immunology platform across transplantation and oncology.

UK immune profiling biotech IMU Bio closes Series A extension at over USD 53m.

UK immune profiling biotech IMU Bio closes Series A extension at over USD 53m. June 2, 2026 London-based IMU Biosciences has closed an oversubscribed extension to its Series A financing round, bringing the total raise to over USD 53 million (GBP 40 million) as the company advances its immune profiling platform and expands its clinical programs. The IMU Biosciences Series A financing was co-led by IQ Capital and Molten Ventures, with participation from the British Business Bank, Meltwind, and existing investors. The round brings total capital raised by the company to USD 60 million. Proceeds will be directed toward operational expansion, clinical platform infrastructure, and the advancement of active programs in stem cell transplantation, solid organ transplantation, and immuno-oncology, including a UK research consortium called MANIFEST, which is investigating patient response to cancer immunotherapies. IMU was founded by experimental immunologists and computational biologists with backgrounds at the Francis Crick Institute and King's College London. The company's core technology combines high-fidelity multi-omic analysis with proprietary machine learning analytics, enabling the measurement of over 100 million immune data points from a single blood sample. The company said it has assembled what it describes as the world's largest immune dataset, now scaling to more than 25,000 individuals in 2026, built through access to patient samples and population-wide clinical data. IMU is positioning this dataset as the basis for a universal standard in immune profiling - one designed to support disease mechanism discovery, treatment monitoring, and patient-level prediction of therapeutic response. Active clinical programs span stem cell and bone marrow transplantation, solid organ transplantation, and the MANIFEST immuno-oncology consortium. The company said it is advancing its platform across immune-mediated diseases more broadly, though specific drug candidates or regulatory milestones were not disclosed in the announcement. The raise reflects continued investor interest in data-driven approaches to immunology, particularly platforms that aim to move beyond single-biomarker diagnostics toward system-level immune characterization. IMU's approach - aggregating multi-omic data at population scale and applying machine learning to derive clinically actionable outputs - sits within a broader industry effort to make immune profiling tractable at clinical scale. The company has not disclosed a timeline for commercialization or partnerships, and no regulatory submissions have been announced. With USD 60 million in total funding secured, IMU said it is focused on scaling its platform infrastructure and translating its dataset into clinical utility across transplantation and oncology settings.
