Requirements
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Desire to work with youth in a structured setting.
  • Must be reliable and punctual and able to attend the program consistently.
  • Must enjoy working with youth of all ages and be motivated to guide and encourage their academic and interpersonal growth.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively communicate with a diverse population from different social and ethnic backgrounds.
  • Ability to set and achieve goals, identify opportunities for necessary changes, and take initiative to work with the team to implement improvements.
Responsibilities
  • Be a leader and mentor to youth while using Positive Behavior Support techniques to guide groups of up to 15 youth.
  • Plan and implement daily activities for program participants based on school-day support and enrichment focus areas, including STEM, Arts and Culture, Character Education, Healthy Living, and College and Career Exploration.
  • Create lesson plans and activities that enrich youths' lives and help them succeed in academics and daily life activities.
  • Complete 25 hours of provided training per school year.
