About the company

Shriners Hospitals for Children runs 22 pediatric specialty hospitals in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico that provide advanced care for kids with orthopedic conditions, burns, spinal injuries, cleft lip/palate, and other neuromusculoskeletal needs. Care is delivered through teams in a family-centered approach that combines clinical treatment, rehabilitation, and research, with education and medical training as part of the program. It differs from many competitors by being a nonprofit, donation-supported system with a network across multiple locations, emphasizing family involvement, research, and education rather than a single profit-driven facility. Its goal is to deliver high-quality, compassionate care to children while advancing medical knowledge and training healthcare professionals, funded by charitable giving.

BOSTON, June 26, 2024 /PRNewswire/ -- Two researchers at Shriners Children's Boston have created a revolutionary new gel that can help alleviate pain for second-degree burn survivors during dressing changes.
