Requirements
  • Experience working with children ages 2–5 years for toddler coaching or ages 6–14 years for youth coaching.
  • Availability on weekday evenings between 4:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. and/or weekends between 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. on Saturday or Sunday.
  • Reliability and professionalism.
  • An energetic, enthusiastic, and outgoing approach to working with children, parents, and co-workers.
  • Ability to be playful, fun, and imaginative with children.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with children and deliver feedback to parents.
  • Physical fitness and the ability to coach soccer skills and games with young children for more than two hours.
  • Availability to work through the summer and winter seasons.
Responsibilities
  • Coach soccer skills and games for children from approximately 18 months through 13 years old.
  • Create fun and engaging organized activities for toddlers and progressively introduce kicks, goals, scrimmages, competitive play, game-like situations, and skill development as children get older.
  • Engage young children and help create positive experiences for youth and families.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience working with children ages 2–6 years.
  • Experience coaching both toddler and youth age groups.
  • Experience with other types of young-child sports organizations, such as SportBall, City Camps, or Pedalheads, or with soccer environments, such as Little Kickers, Timbits Soccer, or house leagues.
  • A coaching certification such as Active Start, FUNdamentals, or Learn to Train is an asset.
