- Identifies, retrieves, prints, and mails hard-copy claims for non-electronic payers, including workers' compensation and auto insurance.
- Resolves claim rejections daily, works with a supervisor to identify root causes, and reports them to appropriate departments regularly.
- Contacts insurance companies by telephone and websites to expedite claim processing and payment.
- Completes medical records requests as needed through the HealthPort e-request system.
- Documents patient accounts thoroughly and accurately to support subsequent reviews and collection efforts, including possible court presentation.
- Assists other Revenue Cycle departments with insurance collection matters.
- Documents collection efforts in the Receivables Workstation system to identify insurance denial and delay root causes accurately.
- Contacts patients or responsible parties to request documents or information needed for insurance claim processing.
- Participates in the Governmental Payer team, including visual management and LEAN problem-solving activities.
- Submits secondary claims electronically or by hard copy with necessary primary payer information.
- Researches the core HIS system to identify charge variance root causes and establish plans to resolve accounts.
- Works on special projects, including charge reconciliation and bad debt processing.
- Works time-sensitive accounts receivable reports on demand.
- Previous hospital and/or insurance collection experience is preferred.

Sep 24, 2026, 02:58 ET LINKÖPING, Sweden, Sept. 24, 2026 /PRNewswire/ - International medical imaging IT and cybersecurity company Sectra (STO: SECT B) announces that Northeast Georgia Medical Center has gone live with Sectra's enterprise imaging solution as a cloud service, Sectra One Cloud, initially deploying the modules for radiology, breast imaging, and cardiology. By bringing imaging from multiple specialties into a single platform, clinicians can access and share patient studies more easily, enabling faster, better-coordinated care for the patients and communities the hospital serves. Gwinnett Chamber honors women in business at annual MOXIE Awards. The event drew more than 500 business leaders, community members, and professionals to recognize women in business who are making significant contributions to their organizations and the Gwinnett community. Northeast Georgia Health System has become the fifth health system in the country to deploy Epic's Chart with Art ambient AI tool for nursing documentation, marking the Northeast Georgia Chart with Art rollout as part of an exclusive early-adopter cohort testing this emerging technology. How the Northeast Georgia Chart with Art pilot is structured. A pilot group of 15 nurses and two patient care technicians is testing the technology across all five NGMC hospitals. This system-wide distribution, rather than concentrating the pilot at a single facility, gives Northeast Georgia Health System the ability to gather feedback across varied clinical settings and patient populations simultaneously. How Chart with Art actually works. Chart with Art records real-time conversations between nurses and patients and drafts assessments, care plans, patient education notes and other documentation for the nurse to review before it enters the medical record. This workflow mirrors the ambient AI documentation model already common among physician-facing tools, now extended specifically to nursing. Why Northeast Georgia Health System is deploying Chart with Art. Every AI-generated entry requires clinician review and confirmation before it becomes part of the permanent record, ensuring nurses retain final authority over what actually enters a patient's chart. Why being the fifth Health System to deploy Chart with Art matters. Joining a small group of only five health systems nationally testing this specific Epic tool positions Northeast Georgia Health System among the earliest adopters of ambient AI documentation extended specifically to nursing workflows, a category that has generally lagged physician-facing ambient scribe tools in broader deployment. How this fits Epic's broader 2026 AI strategy. Northeast Georgia Health System expands access to advanced noninvasive cardiovascular care. July 16, 2026 Northeast Georgia Health System (NGHS) and Flow Therapy have established a joint venture to expand access to advanced noninvasive cardiovascular care in Gainesville and the surrounding region. The partnership introduces counterpulsation therapy (also known as external counterpulsation, ECP), a noninvasive outpatient treatment for patients living with persistent symptoms of ischemic heart disease, including those who continue to experience angina, shortness of breath, or fatigue despite standard therapies. This joint venture brings together Flow Therapy's specialized delivery model with NGHS' cardiovascular platform, establishing a structured pathway for symptomatic patients to access high-quality care. The model reflects a growing emphasis on physiologic approaches that complement existing cardiovascular therapies and expand options for appropriate patients. "This partnership with Flow Therapy adds an important option for appropriate patients and strengthens the management of chronic cardiovascular symptoms across the continuum of care," said Mudassar Ahmed, MD, chief cardiology officer at NGHS. "There is a meaningful population of patients who continue to experience symptoms despite current care.
