Requirements
  • Experience scaling production software for a rapidly growing product.
  • Ability to learn and evaluate technologies based on tools and tradeoffs.
  • Understanding of the business implications of technical decisions and the balance between craft, speed, and business outcomes.
  • Fluency with TypeScript, Node.js, Bash, Python fundamentals, algorithmic fundamentals, Amazon Web Services, Jenkins, Docker, and Terraform.
Responsibilities
  • Help scale Ava as a key communication service for millions of deaf and hard-of-hearing users and their peers.
  • Design and build reliable, performant infrastructure, including improvements to the reliability of realtime audio and text synchronization services.
  • Conceive algorithms for realtime multi-editing and audio processing.
  • Write a new application programming interface to accelerate development and build integrations with complementary productivity and communication services.
  • Design and improve security features for Ava, including features supporting professional users.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with React.js.
  • Meaningful experience as a senior engineer or technical lead.
  • Previous experience managing a team.
