Requirements
  • Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
  • Hold current registration as a registered nurse in New York State, with diploma and licensure.
  • Hold a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
  • Demonstrate excellent organization, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Hold Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support, and Pediatric Advanced Life Support certifications.
  • Have intensive care unit experience.
Responsibilities
  • Use the nursing process to plan, implement, direct, and evaluate patient care to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
  • Work collaboratively with all other disciplines on the assigned unit.
  • Provide admissions, procedure, and recovery care for gastrointestinal patients and electroconvulsive therapy patients in the endoscopy unit, with occasional care for bone marrow patients.
  • Work one Saturday shift each month for the Pain Clinic.
Desired Qualifications
  • Three to four years of endoscopy experience is preferred.
  • Post-anesthesia care unit experience is preferred.
  • Society of Gastroenterology Nurses and Associates certification is preferred.
