Work Arrangement:
This role is categorized as onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Fort Wayne Assembly on a full-time basis.
Must have flexibility to occasionally cover off-shift.
The Role:
In this role you will use lean concepts to eliminate waste of time, energy and other resources that do not generate value. You will work within a dynamic, fast-paced manufacturing team and be involved in building an important product line to our organization.
Industrial Engineer will work directly with production in implementing lean manufacturing systems. They will analyze throughput data to help departments improve performance. They will be responsible to handle standardized work for future products alongside the core team and help to launch extraordinary products. In steady state, they will drive continuous improvement projects.
What You’ll Do:
- Optimize sequence of operations and workflow
- Drive continuous improvement efforts in assigned area through elimination of waste
- Design work operations that meet safety, quality, and efficiency requirements with high integrity.
- Maintain accurate time studies through motion analysis and application of standard time data
- Maintain accurate workstation layouts using computer aided drafting software (AutoCAD)
- Work directly with production in implementing lean manufacturing
- Analyze throughput data to help departments improve performance
- Support implementation and training for standardized work development
- Work collaboratively as one team with all levels of the organization.
Additional Job Description
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications):
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent experience
- 1 years of experience in Manufacturing
- Knowledge of time study and motion analysis
What Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience in Automotive Manufacturing
- Knowledge of human factors engineering/ergonomic analysis
- Experience in creating and maintaining standardized work procedures
- Working knowledge of computer aided drafting tools (examples include AutoCAD/SolidWorks)
- Previous experience with project management and time management
