Requirements
  • An associate's degree or vocational/technical school degree in AV Repair, AV Installation, Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or Videoconferencing is required.
  • One to three years of related experience is required.
  • Understanding of the Microsoft Office suite, specifically Word and Excel, is required.
  • The specialist must respond to phone calls, emails, and texts/chats.
  • The specialist is responsible for work ticket updates.
  • The specialist must be flexible to work either morning shifts or evening shifts, depending on needs.
Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot issues received via work ticket, instant message, text, or phone.
  • Use web-based consoles to remotely control multimedia systems and resolve issues quickly.
  • Routinely test multimedia equipment and collaborative technology spaces to ensure functionality.
  • Repair or replace broken cables, connectors, and equipment as needed.
  • Report issues requiring further evaluation or issues that cannot be fixed in-house to the full-time Conferencing and Media Specialist or Associate Director of Conferencing, Media and Learning Spaces.
  • Assist with moving, setting up, testing, and breaking down streaming equipment.
  • Run and monitor streaming equipment during events.
  • Troubleshoot streaming equipment issues and report unresolved issues to supervisors.
  • Turn on displays that have been powered off.
  • Ensure displays are functional and receiving content throughout the campus.
  • Troubleshoot signage displays and media players.
  • Process work orders through the electronic work order system.
  • Inspect equipment before delivery.
  • Deliver, set up, and pick up or return portable multimedia and videoconferencing equipment.
  • Test equipment to ensure it is fully functional.
  • Assist users with presentation setup and technical difficulties.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned or required.
