Requirements
  • A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree from an accredited institution with Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) or Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) accreditation is required.
  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience is required.
  • A valid State of Florida Registered Nurse (RN) license is required.
  • Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR) certification is required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications are required.
  • Ability to learn new procedures, technologies, and protocols and adapt to changing priorities and work demands.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others and contribute to a team environment.
  • Proficiency in office software, technology, and relevant computer applications.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for interacting with colleagues and stakeholders.
Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical education to nursing and patient care staff and facilitate evidence-based practices within a specialized area of nursing.
  • Collaborate with medical practitioners to incorporate nursing processes into the plan of care for a specialized group of patients.
  • Provide direct specialty nursing services to patients while ensuring adherence to Joint Commission standards and applicable UHealth policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Provide education and resources to enhance patient care.
  • Assist staff with educational needs, problem resolution, time management, and critical thinking skills development.
  • Collaborate with medical providers, patient care staff, and unit management in planning, implementing, and delivering educational curricula.
  • Implement clinical skills activities within established clinical and preceptorship models, monitor data trends, and implement educational strategies to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Support staff in developing patient care plans that incorporate evidence-based research and national standards.
  • Serve as a clinical resource for unit management to ensure quality patient care.
  • Educate technical and patient care staff on the use of new equipment, supplies, and instruments, and coordinate in-service training and workshops.
  • Promote continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
  • Maintain professional knowledge through affiliation with professional and technical organizations and participation in continuing education programs, conferences, seminars, and workshops.
  • Adhere to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguard University assets.
