Requirements
  • Master’s degree in Psychology, Human Services, Counseling, or related field
  • At least two years of experience working with high-risk adults
  • Must meet criteria of a Mental Health Professional (MHP)
  • Must hold and maintain an active Washington State Agency Affiliated Counselor License or mental health Associate License (e.g., Marriage and Family Therapist, Mental Health Counselor, or Clinical Social Worker)
  • Pre-hire and annual tuberculosis test screening
  • Must complete Basic Life Support CPR within 90 days of hire and maintain current BLS CPR throughout employment
  • Must pass satisfactory background check
  • Annual influenza vaccine required, with medical or religious exemption possible (exemption requires mask wear during flu season)
  • Annual employee health screening required
  • TB testing annually required
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in English; Spanish speaking preferred but not required
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; ability to write routine reports and correspondence in English
  • Good character and suitability to meet the physical, mental, emotional, and social needs of the population served
  • Ability to maintain professional boundaries and demonstrate professionalism

Responsibilities
  • Administers the overall daily clinical operations; ensures compliance with agency policies, procedures, government standards and regulations (WAC 246-337); maintains professional standards and treatment policies
  • Provides case consultation, file reviews, treatment plan reviews of counselors and interns, and monitors case management; knowledge of WACs, WIGs, and RCWs
  • Collaborates with the Psych Provider and Nursing Manager to plan, develop, implement, and administer the treatment content; attends regular staff meetings and in-service training
  • Reviews discharge requests to ensure discharge criteria are met; follows individualized treatment programs
  • Supervises clinical team (Mental Health Technicians, Therapist, Peer Counselor, Admission & Discharge Planner); ensures adherence to treatment modalities
  • Conducts employee evaluations and participates in weekly clinical staff meetings
  • Provides individual and group counseling for emotional, social, and behavioral problems related to alcohol, drug addiction and mental health using visual and performance arts as a medium
  • On call for clinical emergencies/consultation; ensures completion and timely approval of electronic progress notes
  • Maintains accurate and current patient records per problem-oriented records system and WAC requirements; demonstrates knowledge of growth and development; provides care appropriate to age group
  • Collaborates with administrator to adjust program schedule/content to reflect regulatory changes; completes daily record keeping; maintains daily logs and records including Extraordinary Incident Reports and medication logs (if trained)
  • Provides all physical care of patients as required; knowledge of community and statewide referral resources
  • Maintains positive relationships with collateral contacts; assists with housekeeping and daily activities; participates in related duties as assigned
