Requirements
  • A high school diploma or GED.
  • At least one year of experience in a health care setting or completed college courses in a health care-related field.
  • Must obtain and maintain a valid Tennessee For-Hire endorsement; the driving record cannot contain items that prohibit or increase the cost of insuring a driver.
  • Ability to protect client rights and confidentiality and intervene in or report program rule violations.
  • Ability to maintain records, required paperwork, and statistical data in compliance with agency and funding requirements.
Responsibilities
  • Assist with supervised group therapy sessions, recreational activities, and occupational therapy sessions.
  • Escort clients on excursions, clinic visits, personal appointments, business appointments, and other assigned appointments.
  • Monitor and supervise clients throughout the work shift.
  • Assist with new client orientation within twenty-four hours of arrival, including explaining program rules and procedures.
  • Attend client care conferences and staff meetings and participate in required funding-agency training activities.
  • Provide courteous, tactful, and discreet service to the public, staff, and clients.
  • Give and receive verbal client condition reports at the beginning and end of work shifts.
  • Contribute to assigned process-improvement and project teams.
  • Document problems, critical incidents, unit rule violations, information needed by subsequent shifts, and observations from random room checks when applicable.
  • Perform basic housekeeping duties, including maintaining a clean work area and coordinating the cleaning of discharged clients' rooms.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience working with patients with substance use disorders.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification.
  • Bilingual ability in Spanish.
