Nothing Technology Limited designs and sells consumer electronics such as smartphones, wireless earbuds, audio devices, and smartwatches through direct-to-consumer channels and retail partners. Its devices run Nothing OS, a customized Android-based software, and use a distinctive design language that can include transparent hardware and features like the Glyph Interface on phones. The company differentiates itself with a design-led aesthetic, a community-funded investment model, and a sub-brand for affordable products (CMF by Nothing) created to reach more price-sensitive customers. Its goal is to become a design-focused challenger in consumer tech by expanding its ecosystem of devices and software under Nothing OS and growing both sales and brand adoption.

Nothing, the UK tech company co-founded by Carl Pei, is restructuring its operations following the launch of its Nothing Phone (4b). Over 100 of the company's 800 employees globally could be affected by cuts, with around 25 positions at risk in the UK global marketing team, according to CityAM. Co-founder Akis Evangelidis denied reports that Nothing was exiting 12 markets, calling them "fake news". He confirmed the company is reorganising teams and introducing dedicated business units, including an AI-native division, whilst consolidating individual countries into regional hubs. The Phone (4b) sold 29,537 units on its first day, breaking records in its price segment. Evangelidis described the restructuring as a necessary step to position the company for its next phase of growth in personal computing.
Nothing, the London-based technology brand, has launched Club Nothing, a global nightlife event series focused on dance music and emerging talent. The series begins in New York on 9 July, coinciding with the launch of Ear (3a), before moving to Tokyo on 30 July. Alongside the events, Nothing is launching the Club Nothing Fund, a $40,000 initiative awarding four emerging creatives $10,000 each to develop their own club nights, event series or festivals. Applications open 1 July and close 1 August 2026, with winners announced later that month. The judging panel includes DJ Manuka Honey, A&R executive James Supreme, and music industry professionals from Nothing and Dazed. This follows Nothing's growing cultural presence, which includes Charli xcx joining as Global Brand Ambassador and shareholder in May.
Charlie Smith, chief brand officer of consumer-tech company Nothing, believes fears about AI replacing jobs are overblown. Drawing parallels to previous technological shifts, he argues AI will create new opportunities rather than eliminate work. Smith has embraced "vibe-coding" since joining Nothing in January, building personal apps that organise his workday, manage travel and streamline communication. He has largely stopped typing, relying instead on Nothing's "Essential Voice" dictation tool, which removes filler words from spoken thoughts. Nothing deliberately avoids heavy AI branding, calling its products "essential" to emphasise utility over futuristic messaging. Smith believes AI scepticism stems from executives overstating artificial general intelligence to inflate valuations. He views AI primarily as a productivity tool for automating administrative tasks, freeing workers for creative problem-solving.
Nothing, the consumer tech brand, has announced Charli XCX as its latest investor and first Global Brand Ambassador. The partnership goes beyond a traditional endorsement, with Charli investing in the company and helping shape future products. Nothing co-founder Carl Pei stated that the tech industry has become "quieter, more minimal, more monotonous", whilst Charli has taken pop music in the opposite direction. Charli XCX praised Nothing's ethos of prioritising creatives and its headphone design and sound quality. The Weeknd and Swedish House Mafia are also investors in Nothing. Founded in 2020, the company produces smartphones, ChatGPT-integrated over-ear headphones and earbuds. Further details about the collaboration are expected to follow.
Nothing has launched Essential Voice, an AI-powered dictation tool for its smartphones that converts speech to formatted text whilst removing filler words. The feature works across all apps and allows users to create custom voice shortcuts for words, links and repeated phrases. Currently available on the Phone (3), the tool will roll out to Phone (4a) Pro later this month and Phone (4a) next month. Users can access it via the Essential key or keyboard, similar to Superwhisper's recent iPhone integration. Essential Voice supports translation across over 100 languages at launch. Future updates will introduce app-based custom styling, enabling tone adjustments within different app categories like work and messaging. Nothing is amongst the first companies offering system-level dictation integration.
