Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in Business Administration/Management, Supply Chain, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Six or more years of demonstrated academic and/or professional leadership experience in strategic sourcing and/or contract management, operational knowledge of business process outsourcing and managed services, project management in complex multi-project and multi-geography environments, and contract negotiations covering business, pricing, and technical terms.
  • Experience leading competitive request-for-proposal processes.
  • Experience leading or participating in cross-functional teams.
  • Knowledge of strategic sourcing processes, policies, and procedures.
  • Experience in data analysis and supplier assessment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Suite applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience developing creative resolutions to complex problems.
  • Experience selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
  • Strong interpersonal and goal/service skills.

Responsibilities
  • Advise and guide internal business partners through the end-to-end acquisition process to procure goods and services that achieve intended outcomes.
  • Perform market analysis to identify suppliers and locations that produce favorable financial and operational outcomes.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to determine business and technical requirements and draft language for supplier request-for-proposal distributions.
  • Drive complex strategic-sourcing requests for proposals and direct contract-negotiation processes, including negotiations of business and pricing terms.
  • Analyze supplier proposals and present findings to cross-functional teams.
  • Determine and analyze supplier qualifications.
  • Partner with internal clients to develop negotiation strategies, objectives, and plans and manage negotiations with incumbent and potential new suppliers.
  • Determine clients' and cross-functional teams' product or service technical and business requirements.
  • Perform ongoing supplier management to ensure compliance with contract terms, conditions, and performance-management requirements.
  • Maximize purchasing power to lower costs while mitigating risk.
  • Develop strategies and support requirements development to obtain competitive business and pricing alternatives from suppliers.
  • Develop, manage, and drive key relationships critical to sourcing-project success.
  • Apply critical thinking and work independently to make sound business decisions.
  • Solve complex problems so business and financial issues result in sound decisions.
  • Work with business partners and cross-functional teams to resolve supplier-related business issues.
  • Stay current with industry trends and act as a trusted advisor to business partners.
  • Present products, technologies, and services from existing or new suppliers to business partners.
  • Develop and initiate solutions to improve supplier performance.
Desired Qualifications
  • Pursuit or attainment of a master's degree, MBA, or equivalent advanced degree.
  • Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply certification.
  • Certified Professional in Supply Management or Certified Purchasing Manager certification from the Institute of Supply Chain Management.
