Requirements
  • A technical degree in Mechanics, Electricity, or Refrigeration with 1–3 years of experience is required, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience providing the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Ability to read and understand information in various documents or on a computer screen.
  • Ability to use office equipment and a computer keyboard to access databases, send and receive messages, and prepare documents.
  • Ability to safely and efficiently operate and maintain mechanical systems, steam pressure heating systems, water systems, ventilation systems, refrigeration equipment, and solvent systems.
  • Ability to climb.
Responsibilities
  • Maintain a daily log of metrics such as water quality tests, boiler function, safety checks, and water and chemical usage.
  • Provide support to coworkers, contractors, vendors, project managers, engineers, and others for project and renovation work.
  • Perform operations and maintenance on critical infrastructure systems.
  • Perform service and preventive maintenance on chillers, circulating pumps, and control valves; make necessary repairs or arrange for them.
  • Check temperature and pressure gauges and water levels to ensure proper operating conditions for boilers, cooling towers, fan coils, heaters, pumps, and feed water tanks.
  • Monitor and log readings of high-pressure boilers, chillers, cooling towers, pumps, and related equipment.
  • Assist plumbing or heating, ventilation, and air conditioning journeymen with installing and repairing boiler house equipment when needed.
  • Operate, maintain, and repair boilers and auxiliary equipment, including reverse osmosis water systems, boiler controls, and electric and pneumatic equipment.
  • Operate, maintain, and repair heating and ventilating units where maintenance can be performed with the unit in place, including piping at the unit.
  • Gain familiarity with the Utility Monitoring System to monitor, control, and trend plant equipment performance, including building automation systems.
