About the job
- A bachelor's or master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical field is required.
- At least 10 years of experience in automotive (OEM/Tier 1) or similar industries such as aerospace is required.
- Proven experience leading engineering teams in an international environment is required.
- Strong knowledge of automotive product development and industrialization processes is required.
- Fluency in English is required.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational capabilities are required.
- Lead the development and industrialization of automotive roof systems.
- Deliver engineering objectives aligned with research and development and business goals.
- Develop and maintain departmental strategic plans supporting company objectives.
- Manage engineering capacity and resource planning to ensure effective project execution.
- Lead and support engineering teams to achieve project, quality, timing, and cost targets.
- Conduct performance reviews and support employee development.
- Ensure departmental budgets are managed effectively.
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement across products, processes, and ways of working.
- Maintain key customer relationships and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Identify project risks and implement mitigation plans.
- Support global standardization and engineering excellence initiatives.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Program Management, Operations, Quality, and Manufacturing.
- German language skills are desirable.
