  • The candidate must be able to map cross-functional workflows, identify operational bottlenecks, and apply Lean principles to eliminate non-value-added steps.

  • The candidate must have hands-on experience with modern artificial intelligence workflows, including large language model APIs, agentic frameworks, and function calling, as well as low-code orchestration engines such as Pipedream, Make, Zapier, or n8n.

  • Partner with Sales and Marketing to streamline lead pipelines, enrich customer data, improve conversion funnels, and update the customer-facing website.
  • Build and maintain data pipelines, operational dashboards, and data models to support strategic decision-making, including pricing-model lifetime value analysis, product-adoption telemetry, sales purchase-order volumes, npm and GitHub ecosystem metrics, and objectives-and-key-results progress.
  • Apply the five core Lean principles and systems analysis to map company workflows, identify operational or financial bottlenecks, and build technological solutions to resolve them.
  • Serve as a direct execution arm for executive leadership by resolving unowned, cross-cutting technical issues across products, vendor platforms, and internal operations.
Desired Qualifications
  • Prior experience as an early-stage startup founder, Technical Operations Lead, go-to-market Engineer, Finance Operations Engineer, or Principal Engineer with cross-functional scope.
  • Experience with React, Next.js, and MUI's tool ecosystem.
  • Deep familiarity with open-source ecosystems, developer tools, or product-led growth telemetry metrics.

Simplify's Take

What believers are saying

  • MUI v9 adds NumberField, Menubar, Scheduler alpha, and Data Grid AI Assistant.
  • August 2026 maintenance releases improved accessibility, keyboarding, and Next.js 16 compatibility.
  • Base UI 1 and Discord community deepen developer engagement and top-of-funnel adoption.

What critics are saying

  • April 8, 2026 pricing changes raise Pro and Premium costs and restrict priority support.
  • Application-based licensing and Enterprise minimums push smaller teams toward Radix and shadcn alternatives.
  • If community adoption stalls after v9, MUI's commercial funnel weakens sharply by 2027.

What makes MUI unique

  • MUI v9 unifies Material UI and MUI X releases on April 8, 2026.
  • Base UI 1 pairs 35 accessible primitives with MUI's mature design-system ecosystem.
  • MUI X spans Data Grid, Charts, Date Pickers, Scheduler, and Chat.
