Requirements
  • An excellent Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Microsystems Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Physics, or a comparable field.
  • Solid knowledge of classical microelectromechanical systems technology, microfluidics, and biomedical engineering.
  • Expertise in the microfluidic and electrical design of Lab-on-a-Chip systems.
  • Experience modeling physical cell interactions at the microscale.
  • Knowledge of optical signal processing.
  • Very good written and spoken German and English.
  • Ability to communicate research results clearly and convincingly, work hands-on, work in a structured manner, develop creative solutions, and conduct experiments independently.
Responsibilities
  • Develop and evaluate innovative concepts for semiconductor-based dielectrophoretic chips.
  • Define robust electrical, microfluidic, and thermal operating parameters.
  • Investigate the physical limits of chip miniaturization and assess manufacturing processes compatible with Bosch CMOS technology.
  • Design and fabricate a functional demonstrator using semiconductor-based manufacturing processes.
  • Integrate the demonstrator into a microfluidic system.
  • Characterize the prototype and conduct a proof of concept for all operating modes using a representative bioassay with living cells in physiological media.

  • Experience with cleanroom processes.
  • Knowledge of oncology.
