Requirements
- At least 5 years of technical program or supplier management experience in a hardware-intensive industry such as automotive, electric or hybrid-electric vehicles, aerospace, industrial electronics, or a similar field.
- A demonstrated track record of managing Asia-based suppliers, particularly in China, through new product introduction and into production.
- Working knowledge of high-voltage and electric-vehicle powertrain systems, including high-voltage batteries, power electronics, and electrical distribution.
- Experience driving supplier accountability through milestone gates, corrective actions, and continuous improvement rather than only relationship management.
- Willingness and ability to travel to supplier sites in Asia, estimated at 20–30% depending on program phase.
- Ability to write clear, structured program updates and conduct productive, efficient meetings.
- Proficiency with product lifecycle management concepts, including bills of materials, engineering change order and engineering change request workflows, and lifecycle states, as well as program management tools such as ClickUp, Jira, or Microsoft Project.
- Fluency in Mandarin Chinese and English, spoken and written, with the ability to conduct meetings, prepare written materials, and provide service in both languages.
Responsibilities
- Own supplier relationships and program execution for key Asia-based suppliers, including high-voltage distribution and power electronics suppliers.
- Drive on-time delivery of parts and assemblies aligned to new product introduction gates, build events, and validation milestones.
- Maintain program visibility by tracking open actions, risks, and deliverables across multiple suppliers in parallel.
- Lead structured weekly and milestone-based supplier meetings and generate clear, action-oriented outputs.
- Coordinate engineering changes through suppliers, including communication, timing, and supply-continuity impacts.
- Engage with supplier engineering teams on design requirements and manufacturing feasibility.
- Identify technical risks in supplier processes or designs early and drive structured resolution.
- Support design-for-manufacturability and design-for-assembly reviews and manufacturability feedback loops between suppliers and Range engineering.
- Drive supplier readiness for prototype, pilot, and production builds from tooling through first article inspection and build support.
- Coordinate supplier audits, process reviews, and on-site visits as needed.
- Support incoming part-quality issues by owning containment, root-cause analysis, and corrective action.
- Serve as the primary liaison between Asia suppliers and Range’s engineering, procurement, and operations teams.
- Communicate status, risks, and program health proactively to internal stakeholders with appropriate detail.
- Support sourcing decisions through request-for-quote coordination, quote analysis, supplier-selection inputs, and make-or-buy trade-offs.
- Collaborate with Range’s product lifecycle management and new product introduction teams to synchronize part release, revision control, change management, and supplier status.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with Class 8 truck or trailer systems, freight electrification, or heavy-duty vehicle programs.
- Background in power electronics, battery systems, or thermal management hardware.
- Experience using 3DEXPERIENCE, CATIA, or similar product lifecycle management or computer-aided design platforms for supplier coordination workflows.
- Prior work at a hardware startup or in a rapid-iteration new product introduction environment with limited process infrastructure.
- Knowledge of export control, customs, and cross-border logistics considerations for hardware supply chains.
