Responsibilities
- Support the smooth operation of the accounting department by maintaining diligent financial process controls and ensuring efficiency and resilience to growth.
- Provide management with reports and information, including daily revenue reports, weekly forecasts, and monthly profit and loss statements, to support improved decision-making.
- Develop and implement business strategies, communicate objectives, measure and report performance accurately, and support strategic decisions and delivery.
- Supervise and support accounting team members across payroll, cashiering, and accounts payable, contributing to a culture of growth, development, and performance within the department.
- Take accountability for the hotel budget and profit and loss performance, controlling, auditing, and developing accounting functions including general ledger reconciliations, balance sheet preparation, and capital expenditure management.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with RHG Accounting, internal departments, and external auditors.
- Ensure company policies, objectives, and standard accounting practices are followed, and recommend actions to improve financial performance and add value.
- Ensure compliance with legislation and plan, deliver, and document due diligence and best-practice activities for internal and external audits, including tax submissions to the Fiji Revenue and Customs Service.
- Improve guest satisfaction and comfort proactively by developing financial controls that complement the delivery of an exceptional guest experience.
Desired Qualifications
- Hospitality or multi-entity experience is advantageous.
- CPA or CA qualifications are preferred.
- The ability to find creative solutions and demonstrate problem-solving capabilities while supporting others is desired.
