Requirements
  • At least 3 years of management experience.
  • At least 3 years of field experience.
  • At least 3 years of landscape construction, estimating, or sales experience.
  • A valid driver's license.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to drive a manual-transmission vehicle.
  • Ability to operate a transit, backhoe, trencher, and demolition saw.
  • Ability to adhere to and enforce safety policies and procedures.
  • Ability to wear the company uniform and work boots at all times.
Responsibilities
  • Generate sales and prepare estimates and proposals to support construction annual and net sales goals.
  • Ensure projects are completed on time, at accepted quality levels, and within budget.
  • Review plans with the crew leader or foreman and designer to determine the most efficient project-completion method.
  • Maintain accurate project records, including job costs, change orders, crew travel time, installation time, materials, and daily job reports.
  • Plan, schedule, and supervise daily and weekly production for the assigned construction crew.
  • Locate, select, and secure materials required for projects.
  • Supervise daily construction projects and visit job sites to review progress.
  • Manage and schedule subcontractors.
  • Prepare accurate final job-cost reports and final invoices.
  • Review and approve invoices from suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Monitor hourly costs and maintain minimum-per-hour target numbers.
  • Monitor job costs and ensure they remain within budget.
  • Assist other staff throughout the year as required.
  • Screen leads to determine client needs.
  • Return all calls on the same day they are received.
  • Develop relationships with current customers to foster new business.
  • Prepare client bids and proposals within five days of a site visit.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Resolve customer complaints concerning plant-material quality, installation, and change orders.
  • Review final project invoices for accuracy.
  • Collect deposits and balances from clients.
  • Learn company programs and accurately estimate and sell enhancement, irrigation, and lighting projects.
  • Provide motivation, leadership, coaching, training, supervision, and support to staff.
  • Help staff develop within the company.
  • Drive and maintain the manager's truck and keep it clean.
  • Adhere to and enforce all safety policies and procedures.
  • Perform additional responsibilities assigned by supervisors.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience as a landscape estimator, construction estimator, landscape project manager, or in an estimating role.
  • An Associate's Degree.
