About the job

Requirements
  • At least three years in a technical role, such as engineering, developer relations, solutions, or technical founding, with interest in moving toward commercial work.
  • Ability to read code, use application programming interfaces, discuss web scraping, and understand LLM-ready data; has built things, even small projects.
  • Ability to research prospects, understand their technology stacks, write concise emails, and conduct focused calls, adjusting technical depth to the audience.
  • Ability to work independently amid complexity and ambiguity, act quickly, follow up, and iterate without needing a finished playbook.
  • Applicants must already be authorized to work in the United States; the company supports H-1B transfers, F-1 OPT and STEM OPT, TN, and E-3, but cannot sponsor new H-1B visas for candidates outside the United States.
Responsibilities
  • Research and target engineering teams, AI startups, and data-heavy organizations that need web extraction at scale, and build technically relevant outbound sequences.
  • Engage prospects using knowledge of their technology stack and scraping challenges, and explain how Firecrawl's application programming interface addresses them.
  • Conduct discovery calls to understand technical use cases and decision-making processes, then hand off qualified opportunities to account executives with useful context.
  • Conduct live product introductions on initial calls when appropriate, including demonstrating how an application programming interface call turns a URL into clean data.
  • Identify field patterns in prospect needs, adoption barriers, and competitor activity, and relay those insights to Product and Engineering.
  • Test and improve outbound messaging, channels, sequences, and personas using measured results.
Desired Qualifications
  • Backgrounds that may be a strong fit include engineers moving into commercial work, technical founders who have conducted their own outbound, developer advocates or solutions engineers seeking a direct revenue path, and sales engineers interested in opening opportunities.

About the company

Firecrawl provides a context API for AI agents to search, crawl, scrape, and retrieve clean content from the live web and structured indexes at scale. Its platform handles crawling, rendering, parsing, and cleanup so teams don’t need to build their own extraction pipelines. The Alexandria layer unifies official data providers, custom connectors, and Firecrawl indexes with the live web, enabling agents to discover sources and pull knowledge, including paid access like Wikimedia Enterprise. The service supports scale to millions of users and funds deeper indexes, search capabilities, and knowledge-contributor payouts.

Firecrawl raises $75M to build Alexandria, a global knowledge library for AI agents

US-based AI startup Firecrawl has raised $75 million in a Series B round led by Smash Capital. The round included participation from Altos, Nexus, Y Combinator, Freestyle, and Offline Ventures. Founded in 2024 by Brazilian Nicolas Silberstein Camara alongside Caleb Peffer and Eric Ciarla, Firecrawl develops open-source solutions for data extraction and processing. The company serves over 1.5 million developers and 150,000 companies globally, including Shopify, Apple, and Canva. The funding will accelerate expansion and develop Alexandria, a platform designed to aggregate knowledge from diverse sources for AI models and agents. Alexandria will compile scientific research, code repositories, government documents, and real-time data across multiple sectors including finance, e-commerce, and employment. The platform aims to provide compatible access via API, Model Context Protocol, or command-line interface across both open and proprietary AI models. This follows an earlier $15 million Series A round.
