Requirements
  • The candidate must have a strong background in developing stormwater and water resources infrastructure and preparing preliminary engineering reports, design plans, technical specifications, and estimated project costs.
  • Five or more years of experience in stormwater management is required.
  • A bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a comparable engineering or applied science degree is required.
  • A Florida Professional Engineer license is required.
  • Experience with ICPR/Stormwise, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, ArcGIS ArcMap, and the Microsoft Office suite is required.
Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage projects involving stormwater management, flood mitigation, and drainage improvement for municipal and regional clients.
  • Oversee the design and analysis of stormwater infrastructure, including detention and retention basins, open channels, and storm drain networks.
  • Prepare and review plans, specifications, and construction documents, ensuring quality control and compliance with local, state, and federal standards.
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, deliverables, and client communications.
  • Support permitting efforts and coordinate with regulatory agencies and local jurisdictions.
  • Work independently and oversee the work of teams of professionals and CAD designers.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with advanced hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software, including InfoWorks ICM, XP-SWMM, and ICPR 4, as well as ArcGIS Pro.
  • Certified Floodplain Manager certification and/or experience in floodplain management practices.
  • Knowledge of the FEMA Risk MAP Program, Guidelines and Standards for Flood Risk Analysis and Mapping, preliminary and post-preliminary processing, and the Mapping Information Platform.
  • Local experience and/or working relationships with clients in the northeast and southwest Florida regions, including an understanding of Florida Department of Environmental Protection and Water Management District criteria and permitting.
  • Experience in hydrologic and hydraulic modeling of open and closed drainage systems, including HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, ICM, XP-SWMM, PCSWMM, and HY-8.
