Required Skills
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in mechanical/vehicle engineering, industrial engineering, or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in automotive engineering/product quality
  • Minimum 3 years in a leadership role in an OEM/ Tier 1
  • Very good technical understanding and sound specialist knowledge of geometry and laboratory testing in a vehicle environment
  • Excellent knowledge of vehicle technology in the areas of optical scanning, cmm, meisterbock, laboratory testing
  • Excellent knowledge or RPS and GD&T
  • Very good vehicle assessment skills and a very good understanding of the vehicle as a whole
  • Sound knowledge of quality management
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills, a high level of assertiveness as well as entrepreneurial thinking and goal- and result-oriented decision-making skills
  • Leadership and team management abilities, with a track record of building and leading high-performing teams
  • ASQ certification, AIAG, VDA experience an asset
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve product quality based on warranty and production data collection
  • Planning and operation of the measuring room
  • Responsible for geometric analysis, preliminary analysis, and testing of individual parts and total vehicles
  • Monitoring of measuring and testing equipment within the area of responsibility
  • Lead improvements based on quality market research activities and benchmarks
  • Oversee geometrical and laboratory vehicle quality requirements
  • Drive Quality improvements with Engineering, Supplier Quality, and Operations
  • Execute Quality fast response process to drive Quality improvements
  • Plan, execute, and evaluate root cause analysis for high quality production vehicles
  • Define quality processes and technical standards in cooperation with Engineering, Purchasing, and Operations teams
  • Mentor team members, foster a culture of learning, and facilitate skill development
  • Work cross-functionally with other departments within Scout
  • Perform other duties as assigned
