Responsibilities
Assist maintenance crews with routine grounds maintenance, including mowing, weed-eating, fertilizing lawns, and routine landscaping.
Weed and clean flower and shrub beds.
Perform litter control.
Edge and clean walks.
Work in high motor and pedestrian traffic areas when required.
Perform other related tasks as required.

Previous work experience performing the listed vegetation and grounds maintenance duties.

VEGETATION MAINTENANCE ASSISTANT Hourly Rate:
$25.21-28.21 per hour, depending on experience
Hours of Work:
Tuesdays, Wednesdays, & Thursdays
6:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Limited Hour (up to 28 hours per week)

Incumbents are non-benefited temporary laborers performing routine maintenance work for the City. Work direction is provided by assigned supervisor or designee. Previous work experience performing duties identified below is desirable, but not required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist maintenance crews in routine grounds maintenance including mowing, weed-eating, and fertilizing lawns and routine landscaping; weeding and cleaning of flower and shrub beds, litter control, edging and cleaning of walks; and performing other related tasks as required. The incumbent must have the ability to operate landscaping maintenance equipment such as walk-behind or push-type mowers, weed-eaters, backpack blowers and edgers. Incumbent may be required to operate standard size pickups and/or sedans with hand and foot control. These positions may at times be required to work in high motor and pedestrian traffic areas.
