Requirements
  • The physician must hold a medical degree.
  • The physician must hold an active Florida license.
  • The physician must hold an active Drug Enforcement Administration certificate.
  • The physician must hold an active Basic Life Support certificate.
  • The physician must have completed Neurology residency training or equivalent.
  • The physician must have board certification or board eligibility.
Responsibilities
  • Evaluate patients with epileptic diagnoses and symptoms in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
  • Interpret magnetic resonance imaging studies and other radiological studies for evaluation of patients, including possible rotation with a neuroradiologist in the radiology department.
  • Interpret electroencephalography studies.
  • Serve on the electroencephalography reading panel.
  • Teach fellows how to read adult electroencephalography studies.
  • Design and conduct clinical research and clinical trials and participate as an investigator in multicenter clinical trials.
  • Organize and moderate journal clubs.
  • Publish articles in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Teach medical students, residents, and fellows one-on-one or in a lecture-hall setting, and assist Neurology Chief Residents with the Epilepsy curriculum.
  • Present research materials at local or national neurology meetings.
  • Participate in divisional, departmental, school, and university committees and initiatives.
