About the job
- At least 1 year of customer service experience, preferably in a restaurant setting.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Proficiency in basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and email.
- Ability to multitask and maintain attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a friendly demeanor.
- Basic math skills for managing reservations and table assignments.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Enthusiasm for providing customer service.
- Communicate directly with guests by presenting menus, helping with recommendations, receiving orders, placing orders, and handling payments.
- Ensure proper uniform condition and grooming while on duty.
- Greet guests upon arrival and arrange their seating.
- Ensure the entrance is never left unattended.
- Maintain a professional, friendly, and discreet relationship with outlet patrons to ensure their well-being.
- Become familiar with menus, promotions, and other relevant outlet information.
- Report cleanliness and maintenance issues to the immediate supervisor.
- Handle guest complaints according to instructions or consult the immediate supervisor.
- Complete mise en place work according to the service requirements for the day.
- Report equipment failures or problems to the Maintenance Department.
- Participate in training and development schemes recommended by senior management.
- Attend regular departmental briefings and contribute to open communication within the assigned team.
- Treat guests and colleagues politely and courteously.
- Maintain high standards of personal hygiene.
- Keep side stations clean and organized at all times.
- Anticipate customers’ needs.
