Requirements
  • At least 18 years of age.
  • Prior experience as a cook, sous chef, or grill cook; 1–2 years is preferred.
  • Ability to prepare high-quality food for residents.
  • Flexibility with schedule may be required, including occasional Saturdays or Sundays and other days or shifts as needed.
  • Ability to maintain professional relationships with food and equipment vendors as needed.
  • Ability to prepare therapeutic or modified diets.
  • CPR and first aid training may be required under state or local guidelines.
  • Successful completion of a recognized food safety course, as required by state or local guidelines.
  • Completion of a background check, drug screen, and/or pre-employment tasks such as fingerprinting and a physical may be required in certain locations under state or local requirements.
  • Ability to push, pull, or carry up to 30 pounds.
Responsibilities
  • Prepare assigned stations for the shift.
  • Under the direction of the lead cook or sous chef, prepare individual components of various entrees and food items while adhering to residents' individual dietary restrictions.
  • Maintain kitchen food safety and sanitary food handling in compliance with state, federal, and DSHS regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
