- Certification as a Nursing Assistant on the Georgia Registry, or certification as a Medical Assistant from the American Association of Medical Assistants, or registration as a Medical Assistant from the American Medical Technologists, or certification as a Clinical Medical Assistant from the National Healthcareer Association.
- A current American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification is required.
- At least one year of patient-care experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant, Patient Care Technician, Military Medic, Emergency Department Technician, or in another relevant acute direct-patient-care role.
- Visual color acuity is required depending on the role in specific units.
- Provide nursing assistance and patient care for the comfort, safety, and personal needs of patients.
- Assist patients with activities of daily living and perform procedures for patients' physical hygiene and comfort.
- Perform duties within a unit-based, self-directed, multidisciplinary patient-care team while sharing tasks with licensed and non-licensed team members.
- Perform general clerical and reception duties according to the needs of the patient unit or department.
- Prepare and maintain patient charts, transcribe physician orders, and enter information into the computerized patient-care system.
