Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, or qualifying additional work experience substituted for education.
  • One year of professional program, outreach, or event coordination experience, with additional qualifying work experience substitutable for up to four years of required education.
  • Knowledge of outreach and marketing strategies.
  • Knowledge of clerical and administrative procedures and systems, including filing and record-keeping.
  • Skill in oral and written communication.
  • Skill in using Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize assignments.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, on a regular basis.
  • Ability to perform the physical duties of the role, including extended sitting, standing for event activities, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing stairs, pushing, reaching, lifting and carrying up to 25 pounds, and arranging furniture.
Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary liaison with Department of Computer Science student organizations.
  • Provide guidance on departmental and university policies.
  • Host town hall meetings.
  • Coordinate purchasing requests and event logistics with the business office.
  • Assist student groups with logistics support for large events.
  • Assist with external relations events as needed.
  • Provide programmatic and operational support for student success, career development, mentoring, scholarship, and experiential learning initiatives.
  • Coordinate program logistics.
  • Direct student employees.
  • Maintain program data and reporting.
  • Collaborate with departmental and campus stakeholders to deliver events and services.
  • Attend evening or weekend events and travel to on- and off-campus event locations.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience using Google Workspace, Mailchimp, Canva, and similar design products.
  • Ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures, regulations, and laws.
  • Ability to independently manage competing priorities in a complex and dynamic environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Event planning experience.
