Requirements
  • 7+ years of experience in Quality & Regulatory within CPG, preferably in home or personal care
  • Knowledgeable in ISO9001, 19011, 22716, cGMPs is a plus
  • Knowledgeable in statistical quality control - SQC/SPC/AQLs
  • Strong understanding of quality systems, structured problem solving and a desire for continuous improvement across your supplier base
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively to a broad group of stakeholders through both written reports and direct conversation
  • Experience in factories and ability to solve problems and build relationships with suppliers

Responsibilities
  • Manage Artwork Review and Approvals to ensure Regulatory Compliance. Ensure artwork meets FDA Title 21, 16, FPLA, EPA, and FTC requirements
  • Ensure compliance with existing and new home and personal care regulations in collaboration with Legal (i.e. MoCRA, Cleaning Products Right to Know Act, etc.)
  • Support claims substantiation in partnership with R&D, Brand, and Legal Team. Provide guidance on what testing needs to be performed for new product development (Toxicology testing, RIPTs, etc.) Work with Brand and Legal to validate on pack claims
  • Own SDS creation + maintenance. Create a Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for all new formulas and be able to provide guidance and knowledge on regulatory restrictions on usage, handling, and transport
  • Support safety testing protocol in collaboration with R&D. Determine what safety tests (i.e. HRIPT) needs to be performed by category and how frequently
  • Manage certifications: Responsible for submitting new formulas and maintaining desired certifications (i. e Leaping Bunny, USDA Biopreferred)
  • Manage registrations: Manage EPA/FDA registration needed for any new products and facilities (Holding/Distribution of regulated products)
  • Own all Quality documentation and processes such as quality agreements and standards from inception to signature. Manage quality agreements and requirements with domestic and international suppliers/co-mans, including distributors/repackers, and contract manufacturers. Establish adequate sampling and inspection plans (AQL) to ensure products meet expected quality requirements
  • Own quality standards from inception to sign off. Collaborate with the Innovation, Packaging, Creative, Brand and R&D teams to create product specific quality standards for Grove products
  • Track quality issues and own mitigation plans
  • Identify/execute root cause analysis, and oversee solutions for OB issues including but not limited to customer complaints, manufacturing issues, supplier defects
  • Lead quality investigations and instruct Operations team and external partners (contract manufacturers, retail distributors) on inspections and defectives disposition
  • Compile monthly data on consumer complaints, quality incidents, product defect rates, and communicate internally
  • Trend quality non-conformances, deviations, and quality issues across all suppliers and contract manufacturers (US/China) on performance
  • Monitor CAPA effectiveness, and supplier turnaround times. Resolve quality issues with suppliers and determine liabilities
  • Coordinate with Grove’s fulfillment centers on quality issues and topics
  • Create and manage (standards of procedures) SOPs and forms where needed to ensure documentation has been established in the event of recalls, inspections, testing
  • Ensure that new and existing contract manufacturers have the ability to meet our quality and regulatory standards. Onboard / vet new manufacturers and ingredient suppliers through an audit of their facilities and evaluation of their capabilities. Spend time on-site at our contract manufacturers as we go into production on a new products, ensuring products meet all of the standards established (perform line trials, pilot runs, and new production to ensure success and quality of new products)
  • Perform routine second party supplier audits to ensure ISO/FDA and regulatory compliance
