Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent experience.
  • Two to three years of experience in a warehouse or receiving setting.
  • Ability to work a schedule subject to frequent change on short notice, including flexible hours, early mornings, evenings, holidays, and occasional weekends.
  • Experience using Microsoft Outlook and Excel.
Responsibilities
  • Operate the receiving department for the School of Hotel Administration and The Statler Hotel.
  • Verify incoming shipments against vendor invoices, purchase orders, and receiving documentation, including product quality, quantity, and condition.
  • Distribute products, packages, and supplies to appropriate departments based on purchase orders, shipping labels, or vendor documentation, and notify recipients upon delivery.
  • Receive, store, and handle food products in accordance with Tompkins County Health Department regulations and applicable food safety standards.
  • Maintain proper temperature control, product rotation, labeling, and storage practices for food products.
  • Use the Notifii package management system to register, track, and document incoming packages and deliveries.
  • Secure deliveries in the receiving area when recipients are unavailable, communicate receipt by phone and email, and coordinate follow-up delivery.
  • Match invoices and purchase orders to maintain proper documentation and inventory control.
  • Process outgoing UPS shipments and coordinate FedEx pickups.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized receiving area.
  • Remove cardboard, recycling, and compost materials daily, and sweep and mop the receiving area regularly.
  • Support efficient receiving and distribution processes and perform additional duties as needed to meet business demands.
