Requirements
  • The Senior Systems Engineer shall have ten (10) years of experience in project management with a minimum of eight (8) years’ experience demonstrating the ability to direct the preparation of facility systems designs, acquisition and logistics support, and change control.
  • The Senior Systems Engineer shall have eight (8) years of experience with Naval tactical systems, simulation systems, commercial systems, communication systems, and applications.
  • Experience demonstrating the ability to direct the preparation of facility systems designs, acquisition and logistics support, and change control is required.
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Microsoft Visio, and Microsoft Office is required.
  • The candidate must have or be able to attain a Department of Defense security clearance.
  • The candidate must be able to work independently and complete a substantial body of work.
  • The candidate must be able to accept and respond to new, emergent, and unique project task requirements.
  • The candidate must be able to present ideas clearly and succinctly in writing and verbally to co-workers, team members, internal department groups and personnel, and outside entities including other departments.
  • The candidate must be able to use office automation software, including Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, and AutoCAD, to accomplish technical and support work.
  • DoD Secret or higher security clearance, or the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance, is required.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • The candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance, pass a satisfactory background screening and negative drug test, provide positive references, and provide proof of identity and legal authorization to work in the United States.
Responsibilities
  • Gather and investigate tactical requirements from IWSL and customers using web tools, the internet, Aegis Weapons System Design documentation, and Points of Contact.
  • Research requirements and provide Rough Order of Magnitude estimates and develop IWSL Local Change Notices to support requirements.
  • Package requirements support materials, which may include floor plans, power and cooling information, data cable build/install lists, and equipment interconnecting diagrams.
  • Develop and maintain AutoCAD and Visio drawings, including tactical roadmaps, building floor maps, rack elevations, hotel services, and security drawings.
  • Develop and maintain engineering databases as required.
  • Develop and maintain PowerPoint briefs as required.
  • Provide engineering assistance to the Configuration Management Group, Tactical Operations Group, Network Operation Group, and Commercial Systems Group.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
