Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree is required; equivalent experience may substitute for education.
  • Three years of required experience.
  • CITI certification is required within 90 days of hire.
  • Knowledge of biology, chemistry, mathematics, documentation, and records management is required.
  • Knowledge of data utilization, complex problem solving, critical thinking, resource management, and writing is required.
  • The ability to detect and translate speech or other communication is required.
  • The ability to distinguish colors and perceive relative distances between objects may occasionally be required.
Responsibilities
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with moderately complex Office for Human Research Protections and Food and Drug Administration regulations and Institutional Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Review protocols, amendments, protocol deviations, serious adverse events, and continuing progress reports for one or more Institutional Review Boards.
  • Consult with research coordinators and investigators to provide suggestions for improvements and modifications to submissions.
  • Provide professional service to the Institutional Review Board Chair, Institutional Review Board Committee, and clinical investigators involving the application of established principles, theories, and concepts.
  • Resolve moderately complex issues involving advanced research into ethical questions.
  • Consult with the Institutional Review Board Chair to determine the most appropriate course of action for review.
  • Conduct meeting preparation and follow-up for human subject protocols.
  • Draft Standard Operating Procedures for newly created or existing processes.
  • Prepare approval letters for signature and other appropriate documents.
  • Prepare study-related documents for review by the Chair or committee.
  • Review submitted documents for accuracy and completeness according to Institutional Review Board regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
