Requirements
  • J.D. degree from an ABA accredited law school
  • Membership in at least one U.S. state bar (CA or DE preferred)
  • At least 10 years of progressive legal experience in corporate law
  • 5+ years managing legal teams in-house
  • Experience with strategic business agreements, commercial contract negotiation, and government policy and regulations
  • Detail-oriented with excellent legal judgment and organizational skills
  • Comfortable with public speaking
  • Experience leading a multi-disciplinary legal team
  • Ability to communicate complex legal matters effectively
  • Experience in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
  • Authorized to work in the United States
Responsibilities
  • Own the vision, strategy, priorities, and goals for the legal function
  • Lead and develop the legal team
  • Ensure legal compliance in product, contracts, policies, and practices
  • Provide legal advice to executive management and departments
  • Advise on risks and potential litigation
  • Serve as an external face of the company
  • Support employment matters and corporate transactions
  • Oversee standard forms, agreements, policies, and legal processes
  • Serve as corporate secretary to the board of directors
  • Stay up to date with changes in laws and regulations
