Horizon Roofing has been in business for 50 years, has grown to approximately 200 team members, and we’re not done growing.

We’re looking for a Talent Acquisition & Workforce Recruiter who can help us find, attract, and hire great people across our company. This is an opportunity to join an established, successful organization while helping build the recruiting strategy and workforce that will support our next stage of growth.

This is not a position for someone who simply wants to post jobs and wait for applications.

We want someone who enjoys finding people, building relationships, creating recruiting pipelines, selling career opportunities, and making things happen.

You'll work closely with Horizon's leadership and department teams to understand where we need talent and then develop creative ways to find it.

Our recruiting needs can range from field and skilled-trade positions to foremen, service professionals, sheet metal team members, salespeople, management, and other key positions throughout the company.

What You'll Do

Recruit Great People

Own recruiting efforts for positions throughout Horizon, including skilled trades, field operations, service, sales, leadership, office, and other specialized positions.

You'll actively search for candidates instead of relying only on incoming applications.

This may include:

• Direct candidate outreach
• Indeed, LinkedIn, and other recruiting platforms
• Employee referrals
• Social media recruiting
• Trade and technical schools
• Career fairs
• Community and workforce organizations
• Industry relationships
• Competitor and passive-candidate recruiting
• Building long-term relationships with people who may not be ready to move today

Build a Talent Pipeline

Not every recruiting need should start with a job posting.

We want to build relationships with talented people before we need them.

You'll help develop an ongoing pipeline of roofers, sheet metal professionals, service technicians, foremen, salespeople, leaders, and other talented individuals who could become future Horizon team members.

Partner With Our Leaders

Work directly with department leaders to understand:

• Who they need
• What makes someone successful in their department
• Which positions are hardest to fill
• Upcoming workforce needs
• Where our best employees have historically come from
• How we can improve the candidate and hiring experience

You'll become a recruiting partner to our managers—not simply someone who forwards résumés.

Sell the Opportunity

Good candidates often already have jobs.

A major part of this position is being able to tell Horizon's story, understand what motivates a candidate, and help them see why joining Horizon may be the right next step in their career.

We're looking for someone who is comfortable picking up the phone, starting conversations, following up, networking, and building trust.

Improve How We Recruit

We want to continue becoming more disciplined and data-driven about recruiting.

You'll help us track and improve things such as:

• Number of qualified candidates
• Time to fill positions
• Source of hire
• Cost per hire
• Candidate conversion rates
• 30-, 90-, and 365-day retention
• Employee referral results
• Recruiting campaign effectiveness
• Hiring trends by department

Over time, we want to know which recruiting sources produce the best long-term Horizon employees, not simply the most applications.

• Enjoy building new processes and trying new recruiting strategies
• Are comfortable being measured on results
• Understand that hiring the right person matters more than simply filling a position

Experience recruiting for construction, roofing, skilled trades, manufacturing, field service, transportation, or similar industries would be especially valuable.

And ultimately, a stronger Horizon team.

Compensation

We anticipate a base salary of approximately $65,000–$80,000, depending on experience and demonstrated recruiting ability.

In addition to base compensation, we plan to offer a performance-based incentive opportunity tied to successful recruiting results, giving a high-performing recruiter the ability to earn significantly more.

Our goal is to create a compensation structure that rewards someone for helping Horizon make quality hires who become successful long-term team members, not simply generating applications.
