Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience is required.
  • Typically more than eight years of applicable experience is required.
  • Experience in information technology application controls and information technology general controls testing is required.
  • Experience executing multiple integrated audits concurrently, including all stages of audit, is required.
  • Experience utilizing data analytics and validating audit and regulatory issues within agreed-upon timeframes is required.
  • Experience leading stakeholder meetings and issue discussions is required.
  • Experience reviewing workpapers and addressing quality assurance queries is required.
  • Critical-thinking and problem-solving skills are required.
  • Advanced understanding of the banking business line's operations, products and services, systems, and associated risks and controls is required.
  • Knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, financial services, and regulatory trends that impact the assigned line of business is required.
  • Advanced knowledge of Risk, Compliance, and Audit competencies and the ability to execute an assignment entirely independently are required.
  • Strong process facilitation, project management, and analytical skills are required.
  • Business acumen and credibility to help business lines proactively identify and address changing workforce needs are required.
  • Applicable professional certifications are preferred, such as Certified Information Systems Auditor.
  • Working knowledge of cloud, microservices, middleware, databases, and DevOps is preferred.
  • Proficiency with computer navigation and a variety of software packages, including Microsoft Office applications, word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and presentations, is required.

Responsibilities
  • Lead complex, horizontal audit projects and supervise staff completing audit engagements with minimal manager supervision; the role has no direct reports.
  • Monitor audit engagement progress against the plan and schedule and assess work performed by the audit engagement team.
  • Provide coaching and on-the-job training for team members to ensure engagements conform to internal audit policies and procedures.
  • Serve as a subject-matter expert in a particular topic, help drive strategy, and support multiple audit engagements covering related topics.
  • Handle complex tasks autonomously and influence business-line understanding of risk mitigation.
  • Partner with the assigned line of business and other Risk, Compliance, and Audit professionals and managers to create, implement, maintain, review, or oversee an effective risk-management framework.
  • Participate in projects and activities that ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
  • Identify gaps and inform solutions that minimize losses resulting from inadequate internal processes, systems, or human errors.
  • Identify, respond to, and escalate risks as appropriate.
  • Support third-line assurance efforts relating to a large-scale cloud migration and ongoing support after the migration.
  • Participate in assurance engagements involving applications and critical software assets across the technology space and advisory engagements consulting on critical technology initiatives.
  • Assess the adequacy of the control environment and identify control gaps and continuous-improvement opportunities.
  • Ensure delivery of high-quality reports, value-added recommendations, and insights.
  • Stay current on industry and technology-related trends.

U.S. Bancorp posts record $7.7B revenue, raises 2026 outlook to 7-9% growth on BTIG strength

U.S. Bancorp reported strong second-quarter 2026 results, with earnings per share of $1.35, up approximately 22% year-over-year, and record net revenue of $7.7 billion. Return on tangible common equity reached 18.7%, whilst the efficiency ratio improved to 57.1%. Fee income rose 13.2% year-over-year, driven by the recently completed BTIG acquisition. BTIG generated approximately $98 million in revenue during its first month, the strongest monthly performance in its history. The company expects BTIG to contribute roughly $200 million per quarter in the second half of 2026. Average loans totalled $405 billion, up 7.1% year-over-year. Net interest income increased 7.5% to $4.4 billion. The bank raised its 2026 revenue outlook to 7% to 9% growth, up from the previous 4% to 6% range.
