Requirements
  • Degree qualified in a relevant engineering subject, preferably in Chemical Engineering.
  • Experience working in Process Safety, Technical Safety, or Design Safety, preferably in the Energy industry including upstream, midstream, downstream, chemicals / petrochemicals and new energies.
  • Experience of managing Risk Analysis (e.g. QRA, FERA, EERA, ESSA, RAM, Flare/Vent Studies).
  • Hands-on experience running process safety software such as PHAST, Flaresim, RAM Maros.
  • Human Factors engineering design implementation experience.
  • Experience of UK safety case and COMAH requirements.
  • Experience of UK applicable HSE regulations.
  • Experience in development of bow tie and identification of Safety Critical Elements.
Responsibilities
  • Deliver Pre-FEED, FEED and Detailed Design projects in the Energy and Chemicals industry.
  • Technically responsible for the area of work and preparation of specific deliverables.
  • Undertakes specific tasks / area of work as defined by the SOW for Process Safety projects.
  • Supports the preparation of the Process Safety Technical Data Report (TDR) and executes allocated tasks within the requirements of the project execution plan and TDR.
  • Ensures compliance with Kent’s ISO accredited Quality Management System, and project specific procedures, guides and standards.
  • Prepare/review safety studies reports independently such as QRA, FERA, RAM etc.
  • Prepare and Review of loss prevention deliverables such fire protection philosophy, HAC schedule, PFP schedule layouts, fire water demand calculations etc.
