Requirements
  • Registered nurse with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing required within five years of hire.
  • Current valid registered nurse license to practice in the state determined by the job location.
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, stoop, bend, reach above shoulder level, and perceive objects through touch.
  • Ability to hear normal conversation and high and low frequencies and see general, near, far, color, and peripheral vision.
  • Ability to consistently lift, carry, and push objects up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift, carry, and push objects up to 75 pounds.
  • Ability to transport patients weighing more than 250 pounds via wheelchair, bed, or stretcher.
  • Computer literacy.
Responsibilities
  • Serve as the on-site administrative liaison in the absence of department heads or senior administration.
  • Provide supervision, guidance, and assistance with decision making and problem solving for all departments within the facility.
  • Facilitate competency in patient assessment, range of treatment, knowledge of growth and development, and age-appropriate communication.
  • Confer with the Administrator-On-Call regarding administrative concerns at the facility.
  • Act as an operational resource for decision making and crisis problem solving affecting patient care or plant operations.
  • Serve as Incident Commander for disaster events and support the Administrator-On-Call and senior administration in managing those events.
  • Provide leadership and assume responsibility for staff-related decision making in the absence of the unit manager.
  • Facilitate intra- and interdepartmental problem solving and communication.
  • Serve as a liaison with departments across the network by interpreting policies and procedures, providing access to appropriate resources, and assisting with problem solving.
  • Coordinate obtaining and releasing equipment and supplies to other facilities.
  • Follow the established chain of command for work-related problems.
  • Develop, evaluate, and adjust staffing based on patient-care needs.
Desired Qualifications
  • Master of Science in Nursing or equivalent preferred.
  • One year of charge nurse experience preferred.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support certification preferred.
  • Bilingual ability preferred.
