Requirements
  • A degree in Finance, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field from a top-tier university is required.
  • Candidates must have a strong background in options trading and a solid understanding of options pricing theory, volatility trading, and relevant strategies.
  • Experience with high-volatility asset classes and leveraged trading is essential.
  • Candidates must have generated consistent profits with annual PnL greater than $2 million for more than three years.
  • Experience with quantitative trading and the ability to apply data analysis to trading decisions are required.
  • Candidates must be capable of making quick, data-driven decisions.
  • Candidates must be able to collaborate effectively across teams.
  • Candidates must demonstrate a results-driven, proactive, and self-motivated approach.
  • Candidates must possess pre-existing work authorization in at least one of Zurich, London, New York, or Hong Kong without company sponsorship.
Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and refine equity options trading strategies focused on small-cap equities.
  • Analyze market microstructure, order flow, and volatility dynamics, including skew, term structure, and implied versus realized volatility, to identify and capitalize on trading opportunities.
  • Collaborate with quantitative analysts and developers to improve options pricing models, hedging algorithms, and execution tools.
  • Monitor corporate actions, earnings events, and sector-specific catalysts that influence equity and options markets.
  • Execute trades across listed equity options while ensuring best execution and liquidity management.
  • Manage portfolio Greeks, including delta, gamma, vega, and theta, and adjust hedges dynamically in response to changing market conditions.
  • Contribute to the enhancement of trading infrastructure, data pipelines, and analytical frameworks.
  • Monitor portfolio performance and risk metrics and provide regular feedback on strategy effectiveness and market impact.

Bitlayer raises $9M in extended Series A led by Polychain Capital and Franklin Templeton

Bitlayer, a Bitcoin Layer 2 solution, has secured $9 million in an extended Series A funding round led by Polychain Capital and co-led by Franklin Templeton. SCB Limited, Selini Capital and G-20 Group also participated. The extension brings Bitlayer's total capital raised to $25 million, following a $5 million seed round in March and $11 million Series A in July. The company has developed OpVM, a Bitcoin Layer 1 verification system combining validity proofs and fraud proofs that enables Bitcoin to validate arbitrary calculations. Co-founder Kevin He said the technology allows Bitcoin to integrate into programmable blockchain environments in a trustless manner. Bitlayer claims to be the first Layer 2 solution offering Bitcoin-equivalent security and Turing completeness, built on BitVM technology.
