Requirements

A bachelor's degree in engineering is required; a mechanical engineering degree is preferred.
Ideally, have at least five years of relevant experience in mechanical design and project management.
Bilingual written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish are required.
Experience with data center cabinets and environmental systems.
Ability to design components and assemblies using a 3D computer-aided design system such as SolidWorks or a similar system.
Knowledge of computer-aided design simulation analysis tools such as finite element analysis.
In-depth knowledge of sheet metal manufacturing processes, including rapid prototyping.
In-depth knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, including its application and interpretation.
Knowledge of mechanical and material properties related to design.
Demonstrated knowledge of complex sheet metal design and metallurgic processes.
Experience with design and failure analysis tools such as design failure mode and effects analysis, design for manufacturing, and RCCM.
Strong knowledge of engineering drawing standards and specifications.

Responsibilities

Apply specialized knowledge, such as structural analysis, design for manufacturing, and design for assembly, to size and select components and ensure product and process design.
Work with cross-functional teams to launch products by taking market specifications from design through prototype and production, including branded platform products and products engineered for specific customer applications.
Work closely with the Engineering Lead to partner with customers, engage in industry partnerships, and establish other relationships that advance product and technology reach.
Participate in and lead cross-functional product development teams.
Coordinate and maintain complex development schedules.
Conduct simulations and analyses, including finite element analysis and failure mode and effects analysis, to validate product performance and reliability.
Direct external activities such as regulatory or other third-party testing.
Collaborate across design and engineering teams to optimize manufacturability and meet industry and customer standards.
Support manufacturing improvements by working with and helping develop internal fabrication, assembly, and test departments, as well as external suppliers.
Lead local product development from concept to production, including prototyping and coordination.
Manage critical issues by meeting with engineering and cross-functional teams.
Oversee testing protocols and external certifications, mentor junior engineers, and stay current with industry advancements.
Lead and coordinate local new product development, new product introduction, sustaining engineering, and design for customization in data center projects.

WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION:
