Shinola makes premium watches, bicycles, and leather goods in Detroit. Its watches are designed and assembled in a Detroit factory and use quality materials, aiming for durable, stylish products rather than mass-market fashion. The company operates by designing products in-house, assembling many items in its Detroit facility, and selling through its own stores and select retailers. A key differentiator is its focus on American manufacturing and local jobs, especially reviving the historic Argonaut Building as its watch factory to help Detroit's economy. Shinola builds a narrative around American craftsmanship, community impact, and Made-in-America authenticity, setting it apart from competitors that outsource production. The company’s goal is to revive American manufacturing, create meaningful employment in Detroit, and offer luxury-style goods with a strong emphasis on quality, heritage, and social impact.

Domino's releases a new Slice Sauce, and a watch collection. The fast-food pizza chain is launching a sauce for customers to dip their pizzas in and is also giving those who buy its premium pizzas access to buy from a collection of high-end watches Jonathan Maze, Editor in Chief, Restaurant Business April 7, 2026 Domino's has a partnership with the watch and leather goods maker Shinola on special branded items. Photos courtesy of Domino's It's apparently time for Domino's to come out with a signature sauce. The fast-food pizza chain on Tuesday announced a new Slice Sauce, a dip designed for every bite of a customer's pizza. And it also announced a partnership with the Detroit-based Shinola on a selection of watches and leather goods that will go on sale starting on May 8. Customers who buy one of Domino's premium pizzas through May 7, the Handmade Pan or Parmesan Stuffed Crust Pizza, will get password-only access to shop from the collection at preferred rates. The collection ranges in price from $115 for a five-pocket cardholder to $1,350 for a Mechanic Watch. "Two iconic, Michigan-based brands are joining forces and we couldn't be more excited," Kate Trumbull, Domino's chief marketing officer, said in a statement. Domino's Slice Sauce is meant for dipping or dunking. For Domino's, the merchandise partnership and the sauce target customers willing to pay a bit more for their pizzas. The Ann Arbor, Michigan-based chain, like much of the rest of the fast-food, has been pushing lower-priced items in various formats in recent months as customers do more price shopping when visiting restaurants. The company recently re-ran its $9.99 any-pizza deal, its "Best Deal Ever" promotion, which ended earlier this week. But some customers are still spending, which requires chains to also market toward higher-spending consumers. Domino's Slice Sauce will come free with either of those premium pizzas now through June 14. Customers who order those pizzas will be able to unlock the chain's black-and-gold Domino's Tracker, promising "an even more premium experience." It's the first sauce from the chain that is designed for the whole pizza, rather than just the crust, so customers can dip or dunk their pies in the sauce or drizzle it over the top. And it comes as more brands promote signature sauces as a way to provide more menu innovation without making operations more complicated. And unique sauces are popular among consumers. As for the watches and leather goods, they will be presented in black-and-gold packaging, much like the special boxes for Domino's premium pizzas. And they are customized with subtle Domino's design details. Shinola's new Detrola watches bring a burst of spring color. The Detroit brand's latest Detrola models feature playful dials, bright straps, and a rainbow of indexes for $495. Mar 11, 2026 2:42 PM EDT Auto, Watch, & Golf Writer, Men's Journal Looking for a colorful new watch for spring? Shinola's latest Detrola collection delivers exactly that. The Detroit-based brand just introduced three vibrant new versions of its fan-favorite Detrola watch, featuring bold dials, playful rainbow indexes, and sporty rubber straps - all for $495. For the second edition of Detroit brand's seasonal art-inspired series, Shinola's designers took cues from the masters of color theory and modern art for the trio of new pieces. The Aqua Green features an aqua center and comes on a light orange rubber strap. A Deep Olive version offers an olive green center with a light green rubber strap. The Blue model's dial has a matte velvet blue center and blue rubber strap. Keep Watching 1985 No. 1 Hit Recorded by Music Icons Has Been Named the Worst Song to Ever Top the Charts 1985 No. 1 Hit Recorded by Music Icons Has Been Named the Worst Song to Ever Top the Charts Watch More Both the Deep Olive and Blue variants utilize a chapter ring in a lighter complimentary shade, while the Aqua Green version deploys a cream border for contrast. All three present twelve uniquely colored indexes (think rainbow) for each of the twelve hours, to make time telling a fun and playful. Like the other versions of the Detrola, the 41mm cases are constructed from a stainless steel core co-molded with a polished TR90 resin. Wire lugs (20mm width) keep the quick-release-style straps in place, while a traditional pumpkin crown is used to set the time, and a sapphire crystal caps the dial. Inside, the Detrola is powered by an Argonite 705 movement. The highly durable Swiss-made caliber enables a date complication and is accurate to approximately -10 to +20 seconds per month. The Runwell Detrola is available at shinola.com and all Shinola stores nationwide for $495.
GiantMouse, Shinola unveil stunning 'Perlage Bleeker' Knife. In a dazzling team-up, Shinola and GiantMouse unveil a folding knife that's equal parts elegance, precision, and utility. And it won't last long. (Photo/Shinola) Danish design blended with Detroit craftsmanship? Say less, fam! Deeply rooted in American manufacturing, Shinola Detroit partnered with highly respected knife maker GiantMouse to create a unique gentleman's folding knife. The extremely limited Shinola x GiantMouse Perlage Bleeker Knife - just 300 units at launch - looks like a sleek combo of utility and elegance. Pretty enough to be worn with a suit and with materials tough enough to take on hard use, this knife has the appearance of a wolf in sheep's clothing. Shinola x GiantMouse Perlage Bleeker Knife. The Brass Perlage is a new take on the GiantMouse Bleecker, a proper gentleman's folder. The Brass Perlage takes cues from the Bleecker with a trailing-point blade and 4.14-inch handle. The total length is 7.43 inches, which hits a sweet spot for everyday carry. It has a slender build and is modest in weight, adding to its credit when carrying. The blade steel is M390, a popular choice for high-performance knives that offers top-tier wear resistance and corrosion resistance. It will hold up to almost all daily cutting tasks, and is strong enough to take on heavier use like hunting, fishing, and outdoor adventure pursuits. The blade carries a large thumb hole for manual deployment from either side and a reversible wire pocket clip. A small section of jimping along the spine of the blade adds grip while cutting. And its liner lock will hold everything safely in place. Atop the blade, you'll find some unique Shinola Detroit and GiantMouse marks. Really, the biggest draw of this launch is the striking brass handle. Many knives you see today have carbon fiber, aluminum, Micarta, or titanium handles. Not this bad boy. This knife has a custom brass handle that dazzles with a perlage pattern finish, inspired by Shinola's watchmaking heritage. Some may find brass a high-maintenance choice; it will require more consistent cleaning and care. But if you allow it to take on wear, a unique beauty shines through when the handle acquires a patina from your use. You can't go wrong there. Who's it for? Priced at $275, this knife is made for those who appreciate a unique, premium-level knife and aren't afraid to drop some coin to add one to their collection. The trailing-point blade is ideal for slicing, skinning, and precise cutting tasks. It's popular with many fish- and game-processing knives. However, this knife is also something of a work of art, and while it could handle game processing, it doesn't strike me as a blade strictly for that kind of consumer. It would be much better used for EDC cutting tasks and even in the kitchen for meal prep. The Shinola x GiantMouse Brass Perlage knife is a quality option for classy carry and a unique piece of art that is as capable as it is pretty. Act fast, though - I'd snag the Shinola x GiantMouse Brass Perlage Knife sooner rather than later. I don't expect those 300 units to last very long.
Shinola shows off its J Dilla collection, set to launch this week.
