Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • At least 5 years of progressively responsible experience in selective admissions, college counseling, or a related field.
  • Experience with application evaluation, including individual or committee-based evaluation.
  • Excellent communication, public speaking, and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated project management skills, preferably in a fast-paced, timeline-driven environment.
  • Cultural sensitivity and experience working with diverse populations.
  • Proficiency with customer relationship management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Comfort traveling both independently and as part of a group.
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license.
  • A driving record that meets the standards of rental car agencies.
Responsibilities
  • Recruit and select students and fulfill the University’s enrollment objectives.
  • Collaboratively develop and implement each application cycle’s application evaluation process.
  • Manage undergraduate first-year and transfer application review.
  • Coordinate application cycle operations, calendars, and process improvements.
  • Develop and facilitate staff reader training.
  • Participate in undergraduate application review and selection processes, including evaluating applications in alignment with training protocols and participating in selection committees.
  • Chair selection committees as appropriate.
  • Serve as an on-campus point of contact for visitors.
  • Communicate with students, families, school and organization counselors, and the general public through in-person conversations, virtual formats, email, and phone.
  • Collaborate with campus partners, including the Student Services Technology Team, on data and project-based work.
  • Coordinate with external partners, including College Board, Scoir, Common Application, and Coalition for College, to support portfolio and office-wide initiatives.
  • Conduct virtual and in-person information sessions and workshops for varied audiences on and off campus.
  • Create, facilitate, or contribute to office training initiatives for admissions officers and administrative staff as requested by the Dean or Director.
  • Directly supervise 1–4 professional staff members.
  • Serve as a member of the Management Team.
  • Complete other assigned projects and duties.
  • Travel throughout the year, potentially including overnight stays, and drive to various locations using rental vehicles.
Desired Qualifications
  • Prior supervisory experience with professional or student staff.
  • Experience leading or facilitating staff development initiatives.
  • Experience with highly selective application evaluation, including individual or committee-based evaluation.
  • Experience with Technolutions Slate.
  • Fluency in a second language.
