Requirements
A minimum of 3 years of demonstrated experience with Class III archaeological surveys, monitoring, and testing projects in the Southwest.
Experience with artifact identification and classification, in-field documentation procedures using tablets, site recording processes, land-managing agency requirements, and other specialized archaeological project skills.
Strong technical writing skills demonstrated through completion of Class I and Class III reports.

Responsibilities
Manage project budgets, staffing, invoicing, and related project administration, and provide updates to supervisory staff and fellow Project Managers.
Attend Project Management meetings and biweekly business development meetings.
Manage multiple projects and accurately track project budgets.
Organize fieldwork mobilization and demobilization.
Provide quality assurance and quality control for fieldwork data collection and client deliverables.
Ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget.
Produce reports and other deliverables that meet agency and State Historic Preservation Office/Tribal Historic Preservation Office standards.
Communicate regularly with the Program Manager, Project Managers, field technicians, and Line Supervisor.
Apply knowledge of the archaeology and history of Arizona and adjacent states.
Maintain company and project-specific safety awareness and practices.
Participate in marketing efforts and business development outreach with prospective clients.
Work with accountants to produce accurate monthly project invoices.
Mentor junior personnel, including reviewing deliverables.
Desired Qualifications
Master’s degree in Archaeology or a closely related field.
Previous listing on federal and state permits in Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico, and Utah, with a strong understanding of Sections 106 and 110 of the National Historic Preservation Act.

Holding or being listed on American Antiquity Association, Bureau of Land Management, and Region 3 permits as a Field Director.

POSITION PURPOSE:
The Cultural Resources Project Manager I is a mid-level position providing project supervision, in-field analysis, and scientific studies for projects located within Arizona and the Southwestern United States. The position requires the applicant to possess site recording knowledge and proficiencies for accurately recording historic and prehistoric sites according to land agency specifications.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
At times, this position may require long periods of walking, climbing, standing, stooping, kneeling, and bending for periods of up to 10-12 hours per day. Frequent carrying of a backpack with equipment of up to 20 lbs. across uneven terrain.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT: A majority of the work will be performed in an office setting. Some projects may require time in the outdoors in challenging and rapidly changing environments to include all types of weather conditions to include extreme heat or cold environments, traverse uneven terrain.
