About the job

Requirements
  • You have sourced, pitched, and signed deals yourself through cold outreach, cleared an inbound queue, maintained a CRM, and tracked conversion results.
  • You can discuss pricing and deal structure on a first call and know which terms you can negotiate and which require escalation.
  • You use AI agents and coding tools in your daily work, including for pipeline management, research, and follow-up.
  • You follow up promptly, close loops, and advance work without waiting for perfect information.
  • You research providers' documentation, pricing, public licensing records, and existing partnerships before outreach.
  • You communicate clearly in emails and calls and provide accurate status updates about blockers and next steps.
  • Your background may include provider or data partnerships at a data marketplace or API aggregator, early business development at a developer-tools, data, or API company, building marketplace supply from an initial listing, content or data licensing, or technical business development that progressed into closing deals.
Responsibilities
  • Own the Alexandria waitlist and partnerships inbox; assess whether inbound sources are relevant supply, classify partner types, evaluate agent demand and rights ownership, determine whether a partnership is appropriate, and decide which opportunities to pursue, defer, or decline with reasons.
  • Decide when sources require technical evaluation before signature and conduct evaluations with Alexandria engineers when needed.
  • Prioritize outbound targets using usage data on sources requested by agents but unavailable to them.
  • Conduct researched outreach at volume to partnership owners and maintain a pipeline with each deal's state, owner, and next step.
  • Qualify prospective deals by determining rights ownership, whether redistribution is permitted, and whether a deal is viable before scheduling calls.
  • Present paid, attributed access to agent demand to prospective providers.
  • Negotiate commercial terms, attribution, usage and redistribution rights, and pilot scope; determine which terms to trade or hold and when to seek exceptions, involving the Head of Data Partnerships and counsel as needed.
  • Lead provider calls covering precedent, approval criteria, rights scope, carve-outs, reporting, pilot scope, and signing process.
  • Hand signed providers to the Alexandria product engineer with the source contents, endpoints or corpus, commercial terms, enforceable terms, and provider technical contact documented.
  • Record deal economics and rights for every deal beyond the initial conversation and maintain accurate live and signed deal counts.
  • Participate in flagship publisher deals led by the Head of Data Partnerships.
  • Bring deal insights to the product team, including catalog gaps, source value, recurring objections, and provider needs.
  • Develop and revise the partnerships playbook based on deal experience.
  • Track data licensing and agent tooling markets, identify prospective sources, and spend time in the catalog and MCP.

About the company

Firecrawl provides a context API for AI agents to search, crawl, scrape, and retrieve clean content from the live web and structured indexes at scale. Its platform handles crawling, rendering, parsing, and cleanup so teams don’t need to build their own extraction pipelines. The Alexandria layer unifies official data providers, custom connectors, and Firecrawl indexes with the live web, enabling agents to discover sources and pull knowledge, including paid access like Wikimedia Enterprise. The service supports scale to millions of users and funds deeper indexes, search capabilities, and knowledge-contributor payouts.

Firecrawl raises $75M to build Alexandria, a global knowledge library for AI agents

US-based AI startup Firecrawl has raised $75 million in a Series B round led by Smash Capital. The round included participation from Altos, Nexus, Y Combinator, Freestyle, and Offline Ventures. Founded in 2024 by Brazilian Nicolas Silberstein Camara alongside Caleb Peffer and Eric Ciarla, Firecrawl develops open-source solutions for data extraction and processing. The company serves over 1.5 million developers and 150,000 companies globally, including Shopify, Apple, and Canva. The funding will accelerate expansion and develop Alexandria, a platform designed to aggregate knowledge from diverse sources for AI models and agents. Alexandria will compile scientific research, code repositories, government documents, and real-time data across multiple sectors including finance, e-commerce, and employment. The platform aims to provide compatible access via API, Model Context Protocol, or command-line interface across both open and proprietary AI models. This follows an earlier $15 million Series A round.
