  • At least 2 years of professional software engineering experience, ideally in fintech, payments, or fast-paced startup environments.
  • Experience building product-driven, user-facing applications.
  • Fluency with AI coding tools, including using them to scope work, understand unfamiliar parts of a large repository, and ship faster without sacrificing quality.
  • Familiarity with agent tooling, retrieval-augmented generation pipelines, prompt engineering, and related tools that power artificial intelligence.
  • Solid full stack experience with React.js, Node.js, and TypeScript, or similar modern frameworks.
  • A product mindset with care for usability, customer experience, and business impact.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to own features from concept to launch with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent communication skills and comfort working cross-functionally with non-engineering partners.
  • Familiarity with building scalable, reliable systems and modern web architectures.
  • Comfort operating in fast-moving environments without an established playbook.
  • A builder mentality with a strong bias toward action.
  • Comfort getting into the details and doing the work, regardless of seniority.
Responsibilities
  • Build and scale user-facing fintech products that power Breeze's payments platform.
  • Use AI tools such as Claude Code to scope, plan, and execute large projects across a large, multi-service codebase.
  • Independently break down ambiguous, multi-week projects into shippable milestones and manage execution.
  • Own features end to end, from technical design and implementation through iteration based on user feedback.
  • Work in a full stack environment using React.js and TypeScript on the frontend, and Node.js and TypeScript on the backend.
  • Partner with Product and Design to shape product requirements, user experience decisions, and technical tradeoffs.
  • Design secure, scalable, and performant systems in a payments and financial context.
  • Collaborate with Risk, Compliance, and Operations teams to ensure product workflows meet regulatory and operational needs.
  • Communicate with stakeholders and contribute to product planning and prioritization.
  • Participate in on-call and engineering runner rotations, triage production alerts and merchant-facing issues, and close them out end to end.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience at an early-stage or high-growth startup.
  • Exposure to payments, financial application programming interfaces, risk systems, or cryptocurrency and blockchain products.
  • Experience working in large, established codebases or multi-service architectures.

Breeze Labs Payments offers a non-custodial wallet and merchant tools for private cryptocurrency payments. It lets users send, receive, and store digital assets on a peer-to-peer network with full control of funds, using TumbleBit to obscure transaction links. The Breeze Wallet is modular (initially Bitcoin and Stratis) and runs on a full-node architecture; a Microsoft Store POS app enables merchants to accept crypto payments. It differentiates itself by combining privacy-focused, non-custodial crypto transactions with a unified multi-asset wallet and built-in merchant acceptance, aiming to make private payments easy for both consumers and merchants.
